Chauffeur Driven Winery Tours From Perth

The whole point of a wine tour is that nobody has to nominate a driver. The moment one person is on lemonade all day the trip stops being a day out and becomes a favour they are doing for everyone else.

Gold Luxury Charters runs private chauffeur driven winery tours from Perth. One vehicle. One chauffeur. Everyone in the group tastes. We are based in Ellenbrook which puts us at the Swan Valley gate rather than driving out from the city first.

Why a private tour beats a shared bus

  • The itinerary is yours. You pick the cellar doors. If you want to spend ninety minutes at one and skip another entirely that is your call rather than a timetable’s.
  • No shared vehicle and no strangers. The car is reserved for your group only.
  • You are collected from your door. Home hotel or Airbnb. Not a meeting point in the city at eight in the morning.
  • Nobody in the group misses out. Every single person can taste including whoever would have volunteered to drive.
  • Purchases travel with you. Cases go in the boot as you buy them rather than being carried around all day.
  • The pace is yours. Long lunch or five quick stops. Both are fine.

The Swan Valley

This is our home region and it sits twenty five minutes from Perth CBD which makes it the only serious wine region you can do properly in a day from the city.

What is actually out there. Around forty cellar doors alongside breweries distilleries chocolate makers nougat producers and cheese rooms. The valley is compact so you can fit five or six stops into a day without rushing.

How most groups run it. Two or three cellar doors in the morning. A long lunch at a winery restaurant. Two or three more stops in the afternoon including at least one brewery or distillery for anyone who is not a wine drinker. Home by early evening.

Estate venues. Sandalford Mandoon Estate and The Vines Resort are the larger properties most groups anchor a day around. The smaller family run cellar doors between them are usually where people find the wine they actually take home.

Timing that matters. Most Swan Valley cellar doors close by five in the afternoon. A tour that starts at ten and finishes at four fits the region properly. Starting later just means fewer stops.

Perth Hills and Bickley Valley

Forty minutes from the city and completely different in character. Smaller producers cooler climate wines and elevation views back toward Perth. Good choice if your group has done the Swan Valley before or wants somewhere quieter. Fewer cellar doors and some open weekends only so the itinerary needs planning further ahead.

Margaret River

Margaret River is around three hours each way from Perth. It is a genuinely world class region and it is worth going but it is not a day trip from the city. Six hours in a car leaves you almost no time at the cellar doors.

We handle Margaret River two ways. Either a return transfer down and back with the vehicle and chauffeur staying with you for a two or three day trip. Or a one way transfer down with your own arrangements at the other end. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote it honestly rather than squeezing it into a day and calling it a tour.

How winery tours are booked

Tours are booked by the hour with the vehicle and the chauffeur held for the full block.

Half day. Around four hours. Two or three cellar doors with a light lunch. Suits couples and anyone fitting a tour around other plans.

Full day. Six to eight hours. Five or six stops with a proper sit down lunch. This is what most groups book.

Custom. Anything else. Multi day Margaret River trips staff outings client entertainment or a tour built around a particular producer.

Send us the group size the date and either your preferred cellar doors or a rough idea of what you like drinking. We will put a route together and quote the hours.

Our fleet

Every vehicle is chauffeur driven. We do not offer self drive hire.

Luxury sedan. Seats up to 4 passengers. Suits couples and small groups.

Mercedes V Class. Seats up to 8 passengers with boot space for the cases you buy along the way. This is the tour vehicle for most groups.

Groups over eight are covered by running multiple vehicles on the same itinerary and quoting it as one fixed price.

What the fare covers

The quoted rate covers the vehicle the chauffeur fuel and parking for the booked hours. Tasting fees lunch and anything you buy at the cellar doors are paid directly by you at each venue because every producer prices differently. We are happy to book your lunch table and call ahead to any cellar door that requires a reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions – Winery Tours Services in Perth

Which wine regions do you cover?

The Swan Valley is our main region and the one we run most weekends. Perth Hills and Bickley Valley are also standard day tours. Margaret River we cover as a multi day trip or a one way transfer rather than a day tour because it is three hours each way from Perth and a same day return leaves almost no time at the cellar doors.
Yes. Send us your list and we will build the route and the timing around it. If you would rather not plan it tell us what your group drinks and how long you want to be out and we will propose an itinerary for you to approve before the day.
Yes. Every tour is private. The vehicle is reserved for your group only and there are no other passengers and no fixed departure times.
Up to four in the luxury sedan and up to eight in the Mercedes V Class. For larger groups we run multiple vehicles on the same itinerary so everyone arrives and leaves together and you get one quote covering all of it.
No. Cellar doors set their own tasting fees and restaurants price their own menus so those are paid directly at each venue. Our quote covers the vehicle the chauffeur fuel and parking. We will happily book your lunch table and call ahead to any cellar door that needs a reservation.
Yes. The Swan Valley has breweries distilleries chocolate factories nougat makers and cheese rooms alongside the cellar doors so a mixed group is easy to plan for. Tell us who is coming and we will build stops that work for everyone.
Tell us at the time of booking and we will confirm what applies. Western Australian rules allow alcohol in a charter vehicle only where the specific conditions of the charter authorisation are met so it is not automatic. Wine you purchase travels in the boot either way.
Your chauffeur will get everyone home safely and that is the entire point of booking us. If anyone needs to cut the day short we can adjust the run. We do ask that the group keeps the vehicle clean and any cleaning cost from a spill or worse is passed on.
